Fabio Morabito's collection of poems, Tool Box, came to my attention when I was working on sketches for this series. I had been thinking about how we relate to tools and their function as extensions of our bodies. In Toolbox Morabito puts forward the idea that tools have a complex existence independent of their creator. He writes of the screw "How is it possible to resist something that never looks you full in the face but offers you only its perpetual profile?"
