Journeymen
In the series Journeymen the tools of archaeologist are used as symbolic forms: sieve, canteen, vessel, boxes, site markers, are artifacts - the material remains - of the process.
Most of the pieces are made up of the natural forms of branches and geometric forms of human made devices. The forms coexistance is tenuous and only made possible through mutual interest or purpose. The shapes, colors, and textures come from my experience growing up in a small town near the banks of the Panama Canal as well as from the writings of Latin American authors such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
